~Formation of The World~

(A small report given to Spellshroud of the wizard's theory on the nature of the isles.)

"In my travels while working on other studies I have seen several events and anomalies which may give further insight into the workings of the world we dwell in.

Far into a moderately dangerous desert in the elven lands I was once shown a unique condition where the world seemed to abruptly end as if some titan or the like had sliced it in half. Normally I would declare such a simple fissure, unique in it's own right... however a nearby pool drained into the place. yet never seemed to run dry, causing me to realize that this place was somehow significant to providing more details into the formation and some of the mysteries of these lands.

The second article I find is confirmed by an Illithid I encountered, it appeared surprised that I recognized what it was and explained the fact that we were alien to the isles explaining why many things seemed so similar yet at times strange and unnatural.

The third curiosity I find is on the way to the city of the dead. Previously all attempts I made to leave the isles and return to my native home had been fruitless as I had been unable to establish a proper portal away. However the portal to the city of the dead obviously defied the inability to leave the realm I found myself in as it seemed to be a connection directly to the negative energy plane itself; or a plane close to it.

Considering the rifts which scar the area around the portal to the City of The Dead my theory is as follows: The first is that the anomalies near the aforementioned portal are somehow this plane attempting to pull the city into itself and grow. If such an event is the case then the unique condition near the desert could be explained as a subjective existence, where the 'part' that would eventually lie in that area has not yet arrived but it's eventual presence is causing an effect on the now due to the powerful forces which would be required to draw such a thing into the reality of this plane.

Unfortunately this is still a theory as the only information I can base it on thus far is speculation and a set of mysterious limitations and conditions."
